If you&#8217;re like us, you&#8217;re looking for a new position that meets your financial and geographic expectations and has a positive and rewarding workplace culture. If you flip the scenario, that\u2019s exactly what potential job candidates want from you.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>One way to demonstrate your culture and commitment to current and future employees is to establish an online presence on LinkedIn. This is why Fuel Medical HR recruiters use LinkedIn as a primary resource to find candidates and why they recommend all of our members create a strong presence on this powerful platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first step in developing your presence is to create your company page. This article and accompanying video walk you through that process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-vimeo wp-block-embed-vimeo wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Ask Fuel First: Creating a Page on LinkedIn\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/870359880?app_id=122963\" width=\"1400\" height=\"788\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Checking Your Eligibility<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>After logging into your LinkedIn account, you\u2019ll need to check if you\u2019re eligible to create a company page, including the age of your account, the number of connections and your account status.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Your account must be at least a week old.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your profile must have multiple first-degree connections. LinkedIn doesn\u2019t provide an exact number, but we find that connecting with your professional colleagues, members of your team and your Fuel Medical Regional team is generally sufficient.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your profile\u2019s status must be \u201cIntermediate\u201d or \u201cAll-Star.&#8221; Navigate to the top menu and click \u201cMe.\u201d Then, &#8220;View profile.\u201d You\u2019ll find your status under the \u201cSuggested for you\u201d section. If you don\u2019t have either status, contact our team. We can audit your account to recommend areas of improvement to help you reach one of these statuses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Adding Your Work Email Address<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Next, make sure your work email address is associated with your LinkedIn account. Follow these steps to check:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Navigate to the top menu and select \u201cMe\u201d (see Image 1. \u201cMe\u201d Drop-Down Menu)<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select \u201cSettings &amp; Privacy\u201d on the left menu.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select \u201cEmail addresses.\u201d If you\u2019ve already set up an email, it will appear in this area. Using a work email when setting up a company page builds confidence since your connections may be able to view your email address through LinkedIn.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you haven\u2019t added an email, select \u201cAdd Email Address\u201d and type in your primary work email.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select \u201cConfirm.\u201d An email will be sent to verify your address. It also attracts top talent by showing them who you are and what you stand for. In this article, we\u2019ll show you how to create your company page and then suggest content to add to that page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Creating a company page on LinkedIn includes the following steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Navigate to the top menu and select \u201cFor Business.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>At the bottom of that page, select \u201cCreate a Company Page.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"327\" height=\"655\" src=\"https:\/\/fuelmedical.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/for-business-drop-down-menu.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12141\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Image 2. &#8220;For Business&#8221; Drop-Down Menu<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>A new page will open, and you\u2019ll have the choice of creating one of three options: \u201cCompany,\u201d \u201cShowcase page\u201d or \u201cEducational institution.\u201d Select \u201cCompany.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Be ready to add the following information (see Image 3. Company Page Form<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>In this section, you\u2019ll also find an upload field to add your logo and branded cover image. Ensure you have a JPG, JPEG or PNG file ready to upload.\n<ul>\n<li>Your Fuel Medical Regional team can work with you and our Design team to develop a branded social media package that you can use on LinkedIn as well as other platforms, such as Facebook or Instagram.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>There is also a space to create a tagline for your company page. This is a brief description of your practice\u2014brief as in no more than 120 characters. An example is \u201cA 10-physician strong audiology practice with over 25 years of experience serving greater Portland\u201d (this is 98 characters, including spaces in between words).<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once you complete the form, check that you\u2019ve read the terms and select \u201cComplete.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Adding Content to Your Company Page<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Creating a LinkedIn company page is just the first step; you need to regularly add content to draw attention to your page. Coming up with ideas can be challenging, so we\u2019ve compiled a list of topics which you can draw inspiration from.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>About us: Describe your practice, such as your history, mission, values and areas of expertise. Be sure to share information about your team (with images), like who they are and what their qualifications are.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your services: Write posts about the services you provide, including images of your staff and patients (talk to your Regional team about HIPAA-compliant images of patients).<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Testimonials: Do you have patients who rave about your practice? Great! Ask them to write why they like coming to your practice. If they agree, take a picture of them in the office with a staff member.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Practice updates: If you\u2019re opening a new location or just hired a new audiologist, add that information to your company page.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>News and events: Post about conferences that your staff has attended or articles that they\u2019ve published. Anything newsworthy should go on your company page.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Job openings: Post open positions to attract candidates. More connections mean more people will see your posts, so be intentional about building a strong network.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Does Your Content Attract Talent?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Now that you know how to create a company page and have some ideas of content to add to it, you need to ask yourself an important question: Does the content on my company page attract talent? This is where we started this Ask Fuel First article. LinkedIn is a robust tool that you can use to recruit employees\u2014only if you\u2019re using it correctly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What do we mean by using LinkedIn correctly? Well, people add all sorts of content to their company pages, but that doesn\u2019t mean they\u2019re attracting quality candidates. In fact, they may actually be discouraging people from applying if they find a company\u2019s page disorganized, distasteful or even offensive. At a minimum, spelling errors in posts demonstrate a lack of attention to detail. Posts showing employees looking uncomfortable or disengaged during events may indicate a problem with the company\u2019s workplace culture. Images that show staff of only one ethnicity or age group may lead candidates to believe that the company doesn\u2019t welcome diversity. This list can go on and on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We know you can\u2019t attract every potential candidate, nor should you\u2014some candidates won\u2019t be a good fit for your practice. However, you should have an idea of your practice\u2019s purpose and values and then seek candidates that embrace those or similar ideals.
