But how do they know who you are and what you stand for? Easy, set up a LinkedIn company page; we discussed that in our last article. But what happens if you aren\u2019t in control of your company page? People will most likely find your practice online, and then they\u2019ll search to see if you\u2019ll meet their needs before making an appointment. Existing patients and potential job candidates will also try to find out more about your practice online. This can be both positive and negative. Of course, people should be able to find you online. Enticing prospective patients to call and make an appointment, providing a platform to disseminate useful information to existing patients, sharing who the team is and what\u2019s important to you to job candidates and making connections with colleagues in the field are all positive aspects of being visible online. But what if there\u2019s information out there that is incorrect or unprofessional? Maybe an auto-generated company page looks so basic that it gives the impression that you don\u2019t care about your online presence. In these situations, being visible online turns out to be seriously negative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Protect Your Practice From Misinformation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>LinkedIn auto-generates pre-made company pages that may contain inaccurate or incomplete information because someone outside of the practice has created it. In a worst-case scenario, someone else might claim your company page and use it for spam or other malicious purposes, giving your \u201cactual\u201d practice a bad name. So, sometimes, claiming your company page isn\u2019t always about adding some character to your online presence; rather, you\u2019re protecting your practice from fraud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Avoid these troubles by claiming your LinkedIn company page today. You\u2019ll have more control over the information that is displayed, plus you\u2019ll have the ability to use features like analytics and advertising. The best thing about claiming your practice\u2019s company page is that it\u2019s incredibly easy to do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Easy-to-Follow Process<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019ve outlined the process below to make sure you get complete control of your page without jumping through a bunch of hoops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Log into your account and navigate to the top menu. Then select \u201cAdd position.\u201d A drop-down menu will give you two choices: \u201cAdd position\u201d or \u201cTake a career break.\u201d Select \u201cAdd position\u201d (see the callout in Image 2. \u201cExperience\u201d Section).<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"color: initial;\">A pop-up window will appear on your screen (see Image 3. \u201cAdd Experience\u201d Pop-Up). Fill out the prompts asking for your job \u201cTitle,\u201d \u201cEmployment type,\u201d \u201cCompany name\u201d and \u201cLocation.\u201d After you\u2019ve typed the information in the fields or selected the appropriate information from a drop-down menu, select \u201cSave.\u201d<\/span><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If your profile doesn\u2019t update, try refreshing the page or logging out and then back in.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"728\" height=\"780\" src=\"https:\/\/fuelmedical.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/add-exprience-info.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12151\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Image 3. &#8220;Add Experience&#8221; Pop-Up<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>If your practice details appear in your \u201cExperience\u201d section, you should be ready to claim your page. Select your company\u2019s name, and in the top right-hand corner, select \u201cClaim this page.\u201d You\u2019ll be prompted to complete a verification box. &nbsp;Once finished, simply select \u201cConfirm.\u201d And that\u2019s it!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You now have access to your practice\u2019s LinkedIn company page! This is a great time to update the page with specific information, such as the practice\u2019s website address, physical location and phone number. Next, be sure to upload your logo and branded cover image to differentiate your practice from other audiology and ENT practices nearby.
