CrossFit enthusiast, Marvel movie connoisseur, and Fuel Medical’s Software Business Analyst Evan Allan dishes on what a day at the office looks like.

""1. Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I grew up in Vancouver, Washington and attended Union High School. After graduating I went to the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. I majored in finance and minored in mathematics, was a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity and played wing and center on the rugby team. I enjoy doing CrossFit every morning, reading, watching Marvel movies and cooking.

2. What is the most valuable resource you provide to our members?

I help our Allergy EDGE members identify opportunities through their KPIs and take advantage of all of the resources we have on hand to grow their allergy departments. We’ve learned a lot through implementing Allergy EDGE with multiple practices across the country, and often our members can learn from the experience of other practices. I also build custom reporting, identify trends, and benchmark current members’ performance against their competitors in the industry.

3. What’s an everyday work day look like for you?

My day starts by checking in with our Allergy EDGE hotline to address any questions from our members. Then I normally pack my meetings into the morning to leave my afternoons free for other projects. I’ll meet with the development team to talk about the next advances in the software, walk members through their KPIs and address incoming calls from members who want software support. My afternoons are taken up with projects to improve and advance our Allergy EDGE services. For example, we’re currently updating the code on all our practices’ software to increase efficiency, and we recently developed a new program to help increase patient compliance with allergy treatment.

4. What is your professional background?

Prior to Fuel, I worked in financial consulting, specializing in helping Fortune 100 companies create, account and forecast equity compensation plans. During college at the University of Arizona, I worked with the endowment fund to select stocks and bonds for a portion of the portfolio that was student run. Since coming to Fuel four years ago, my work has focused on utilizing data to improve our Allergy EDGE software and give members insight into their practices.
