Steve Foley

Tell us a little bit about yourself (i.e., professional background, hobbies, interests, etc.).

I’m the Regional Manager for the SE Region (Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi). Prior to joining the Fuel team just over ten years ago, I worked in the mortgage financing industry and had my own home inspection business. I grew up here in the Northwest, and I enjoy all the outdoor activities it has to offer. When I’m not on the river or up in the mountains hiking with my German Shepherd pup, Harbor, I can be found wine tasting at one of Willamette Valley’s amazing vineyards or at home doing some type of woodworking project in the garage.

What is the most valuable resource you provide to our members, and what does an average day look like?

I’d say it’s my thoughtful approach to how I work with each of our members. I invest the time in getting to know each business’s unique challenges and opportunities and understanding what their short- and long-term goals are. Collecting this information early on helps me focus on what’s important to them and ensures I’m working at their pace. A typical day for me includes hopping on calls with members to discuss open and upcoming projects, collaborating with our strategic supply partners and working with my colleagues to keep our members’ projects moving forward. One of the many things I love about my job is I’m always learning, and every day offers a new problem to solve.

Tell us something unique about you.

I geek out when it comes to yard and outdoor projects. I belong to a Facebook group called “Lawn Care Fanatics,” and I’m always surfing Pinterest in search of new landscaping ideas. You will never find any weeds, crabgrass or clovers in my lawn, garden or flowerbeds.

What is one thing you cannot live without?

It’s a little embarrassing to admit, but the first thing that comes to mind is ketchup.
