Susan Atchison, Regional Manager

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I live and work from my home office in Georgetown, Texas, and maintain my Texas audiology license while continuing my membership in the American Academy of Audiology (AAA), American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and Texas Academy of Audiology (TAA).

What do you do at Fuel, and what is the most valuable resource you provide to our members?

As a regional manager at Fuel, I first learn about my member’s practice, then partner with the member as a trusted advisor to equip them for maximizing opportunities.

What does a typical workday look like for you?

There is no typical workday—I remain flexible to address member needs as they arise.

What is your professional background?

I have a wealth of experience in the hearing industry and the health care marketplace. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to practice educational and clinical audiology, providing comprehensive diagnostic assessments and treatment plans for my patients. As my career evolved, I gained management experience as a director in a Texas health care system, practice administrator with a San Antonio neurotology practice and COO for a 23-surgeon orthopedic practice. I then continued my work in the audiology/ENT space by becoming a consultant.

Before joining Fuel Medical Group five years ago, I provided independent consulting services and led the development of a leading hearing aid manufacturer’s first business consulting group. Fuel Medical Group and I have a common mission: helping audiologists and ENTs have successful practices through long-term working relationships.

What do you like to do in your free time? Do you have a fun fact about yourself you’d like to share?

I will never pass up an opportunity to spend time with family, especially grandchildren—they are the best! I’m an avid walker and enjoy the occasional special trip to Eatons’ Ranch in Wolf, Wyoming, for hiking and horseback riding—it’s a beautiful place!
